Issue: 3 August 2021
The eZu newsletter connects with our CrewMachine crowd. The CrewMachine network includes thousands of people around the globe, working in 12 languages. Every issue will be part education and hopefully a whole lot of fun!
What is eZu
eZu is your crowd connection, a resource for all CrewMachine freelancers. It will include a monthly newsletter filled with tips, articles, freelancer testimonials and fun. Future plans for eZu include a blog where you will be able to read articles related to content creation, page review, research and more. It will also include CrewMachine tips, work from home tips, and eventually, short quizzes.
In this issue, we talk about passive voice and how to avoid it, explain how to find the creative brief – and why you should check it daily, talk a little about conversion content and a whole lot more. Have an idea for eZu or the newsletter? Tell us what you think.

Stay Safe
- Unfortunately, Covid 19 doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. And with new variants being discovered regularly it’s still vitally important to practice social distancing and wear masks, even if you’ve been vaccinated. We care about every one of our freelancers, so please do as much as you can to keep yourselves and your families safe and healthy.
- We need writers and editors for 2 upcoming projects.
- Project 1 is technical related items
- Project 2 is Yoga and meditation
If you feel you are qualified for either of these categories please fill out this short form and a PM will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Education
- How many times have you been given feedback saying that you’re using too much passive voice? Check out our article that explains the difference between active and passive voice and why passive voice is frowned upon in this, and almost all types of writing. You’ll also learn how to recognize and avoid passive voice in your writing.
- CrewMachine Tip – Creative Brief – Every item in every project has a unique creative brief which explains the specific needs and requirements of that particular project. It’s vital that you thoroughly read the creative brief for each project you are assigned to. It’s also a good idea to review the brief for updates every time you work. Click here to find out more about the creative brief and how to access it.
Process of the Month
- Conversion content. Do you get overwhelmed trying to read through numerous reviews to determine if a product is worth it? Conversion content is a relatively new service we are offering clients. Find out more about it here.

eZdia Freelancer Testimonial –
- Mark B
I’ve been working as an editor and sometimes writer with eZdia for at least five years now – maybe closer to seven. Its projects have always been there when I’ve needed a boost in my weekly salary, whether it’s just a few files to make a few extra bucks or jumping headfirst into a couple of projects to make sure the bills stay paid on time. I have enjoyed working with just about everybody on the multiple projects eZdia has, including the project managers like Sandy, Trish, Emily, Kavita, and others. I like the variety of work that eZdia has, including the many top-name clients they enlist, and the fact that everybody strives to make sure everyone understands what is required on every project and pitches in to help anyone who may be struggling. eZdia is one of my favorite clients, and I expect that to remain so for years to come.
