Education

  • Grammar Tip – We’ve talked about the importance of using strong verbs and when and how to use adverbs. To finish out information about verbs, we are going to revisit our previous article on passive/active voice. When writing in a passive voice, the sentence structure is usually noun – verb – subject. But, when writing in an active voice, the sentence structure should be subject – verb – noun.
  • CrewMachine Tip – Editors/QA leave feedback on almost all items, so it’s important to go back and review submitted work on CrewMachine at least once or twice a week. Follow this simple guide to know how to access and review submitted work.
  • Useful Tools – No matter how skilled of a researcher, writer or editor you are, using tools like a grammar checker, passive voice checker, thesaurus and dictionary is always a good idea. So, we’ve put together a list of useful tools that will help you improve your skills. This list is a living document and will grow as we find more resources, so bookmark it and check it often. If you have a favorite tool that you use, send us an email and let us know so we can add it to the list.
  • Work from Home Tip – Whether you work from home in a dedicated office space, or at your kitchen table. A cluttered office space can decrease your focus and productivity. Check out this article for some tips on how to declutter your workspace.
